Details: The team at Sangam look forward to meeting you at our famous Indian Restaurants in the Manchester area. We guarantee freshly prepared authentic Indian food and of course the warmest of welcomes.
Sangam 3 is the fourth and latest venture in this popular dynasty of restaurants.
This is possibly one of the smaller ones, though it is very stylish, comfortable and airy (due to a no smoking policy). The staff were welcoming and extremely attentive. The poppadums and various dips were brought immediately to our table and were delicious, though we were trying to save ourselves for the main event!
For starters we had, Aloo Tikka, which is rather like a spiced hash brown and was very quickly devoured. Paneer Chilli, which was delicious, though extremely spicy and not for the faint hearted. The clear winner were the Seek Kebabs, which were nicely spiced and cooked to perfection.
After a welcome 10 minute break, the Sangam team brought the main courses. Kylie and Cath both had lamb dishes, Jalfrezy and Tikka Balti. The lamb was fantastic, extremely tender. The Jalfrezy was the hotter of the two although both had individual distinguishing flavours, and were really enjoyed. Louise opted for the Chicken Tikka Rogan Josh, which was everything a Rogan Josh should be. The peppers in this dish were amazing, they melted in the mouth and had a lovely flavour. The Peas Pillau and Egg Pillau rice were a nice change to plain rice. The Egg Pillau comes highly recommended, something we will definitely order again.
The prices at Sangam Heaton Moor are very reasonable and you would be hard pushed to spend more than £15 a head. We all agreed it had been a fantastic meal and extremely filling due to the generous portions. We will definitely be making a return visit.
Your Comments:
Of all the Indian restaurants in the Heatons I think Sangam has to be my favourite. Friendly staff, an excellent choice of dishes and reasonably priced. Matthew Tarvey - submitted 28/02/06 09:47
